Overview

This is the global tier list for the awesome gacha game Sword Art Online: Alicization Rising Steel . The list is rated on the characters usefulness in the game, which includes:
  • Story Mode - Skill usefulness in helping you progress
  • Team Synergy - How well in synergizes with specific characters
  • Damage - The DPS in provides (AoE or Single Target)
  • Utility - What useful skills that he/she provides aside from damage

S Tier

Alice [Osmanthus Knight]

Strengths

  • Top AoE attacker
  • Team buffer (AoE magic resist buff)
  • Has magic attack debuff (single target)
  • Offensive skill set with Assault, Breaker type skills
  • Good PvE farmer with quick clears
  • AoE Incarnate
  • Strong against Water

Weaknesses

  • No healing skills
  • Pure physical attack (no magic spells)
  • Weak against Wind
  • Low priority turn order

Overall, I think she is a top pick for new players as she will help you breeze through story mode. Healer is covered since you will be getting free Sortiliena [Young Serlut Stule], so it will be okay to not re-roll for any healers.

Eldrie [Rose Garden Knight]

Strengths

  • Utility DPS with Physical and Magical attacks
  • Lowers enemy physical resist
  • Has Charge and Assault
  • AoE attacks
  • AoE Incarnate
  • Strong against Fire

Weaknesses

  • No heals
  • No buff skills
  • No break skills
  • Low priority turn order
  • Weak against Earth

A good alternative if you want an AoE attacker if you didn’t get Alice [Osmanthus Knight]. He offers more utility and has magic damage. Go for him if you need magic damage.

Asuna [Fierce Flash]

Strengths

  • Utility DPS and team buffer
  • Strong single target attacker
  • Has Charge skill
  • Team AoE attack buff
  • High turn order priority
  • No elemental disadvantage

Weaknesses

  • No Magical attacks
  • No AoE attacks
  • No Break skills

If you run a some strong physical team, you will want her since she makes them a lot stronger with her team buff. If you think you lack magic damage, you will get Alice [Childhood Memories] later to make up for that.

Eydis [Knight of the Abyss]

Strengths

  • Utility DPS
  • Magical AoE attack with heals
  • Can be used as hybrid healer for the team
  • Has single target Assault skill
  • Very high turn order priority

Weaknesses

  • Mediocre stat and therefore weaker damage than 5 stars
  • Poor physical/magical defense stats
  • Mediocre E-skill

A great hybird attacker that is useful for any player that can get her. She can fill the healer and attacker spot easily. Top tier for a 4 star character no doubt.

Asuna [Upon a Wishing Star]

Strengths

  • Utility DPS
  • Buff team magical attack
  • Small AoE heal
  • Has breaker skill
  • Strong AoE magical attack
  • Viable backup hybrid healer

Weaknesses

  • Not effective in physical based teams
  • Poor physical attack/crit stats
  • Heals may not be enough in tougher fights

Tier A

Ronie [Budding Justice]

Strengths

  • Support with strong AoE heals
  • Strong magical damage (single target) with damage over time effect
  • High turn order priority
  • Breaker incarnate

Weaknesses

  • No buffs for team
  • Weak physical damage
  • Weak against Dark
  • No charge skills

A good alternative healer to use that provides magic attack. If you want to diversify your attack types, she should definitely be in your squad.

Leafa [Merciless Magical Swordsman]

Strengths

  • Support AoE healer (quite strong)
  • Offers single target and AoE attacks
  • High turn order priority
  • Charge incarnate

Weaknesses

  • No buffs for team
  • No break skills
  • No magic attacks

So she is the physical hybrid healer version of Ronie [Budding Justice], so it is just a preference of whether you have enough magical attackers or if you want a more physical team.

Kirito [All-Enveloping Darkness]

Strengths

  • Very strong single target physical attacker
  • Team buff against physical attacks
  • Can reduce enemy attack
  • Breaker skill

Weaknesses

  • Mostly damage and lacking utility
  • No healing or charges to use incarnate
  • No AoE attacks
  • No magical attacks

Kirito is very good boss killer, especially in a team with physical attack buff or debuff on enemy. You will want to use him with any physical debuffer (Eldrie for example) to maximize his damage potential further.

Sortiliena [Noble Aspiration]

Strengths

  • Single target utility attacker
  • Has a single target heal
  • Has physical and magical attack
  • Can reduce enemy magical resistance
  • Strong single target incarnate

Weaknesses

  • No charge skill
  • No breaker skill
  • Weak against Earth

The good thing about her is that she can help you in the healing department aside from dealing good damage. However, she doesn’t provide any support charge skills to help build incarnate, so your teammates will need to back that up.

Tier B

Eugeo [Blooming Rose]

Strengths

  • AoE Incarnate
  • Quite durable
  • Hybrid attacker with physical and magical attack
  • Has charge skill
  • Strong against Fire

Weaknesses

  • No break skills
  • Would be S tier if he had AoE heals
  • Low turn order priority
  • Weak against Earth

Tiese [Fiery Determination]

Strengths

  • Team support buffer with magical attack
  • Has charge skill
  • Has physical and magical attack (single target)
  • AoE incarnate

Weaknesses

  • No heals
  • No break skills
  • Low turn order priority
  • Weak against Water

Tiese is a solid hybrid attacker that provides single target and AoE attacks. It would be nice if she had a skill with AoE and she would be a complete hybrid attacker.

Yuuki [Engraved in Stone]

Strengths

  • Self sufficient attacker
  • Strong physical attacker (single target)
  • Has charge skill
  • Unique evasion skill
  • Can self heal
  • High turn order priority

Weaknesses

  • No team utility
  • No break skills
  • No magic attacks
  • Weak against Light

Yuuki is similar to Kirito [All Enveloping Darkness] but a more solo oriented type character. Kirito brings team buffs while Yuuki brings self sufficent solo physical damage dealer. Since this is a team game, Kirito is much better as he makes his other teammates hit harder as well.

Alice [Childhood Memories]

Strengths

  • Free and easy to limit break
  • Magic heavy AoE attacker with healing capabilities
  • High turn order priority
  • AoE Incarnate
  • Breaker

Weaknesses

  • Poor stats
  • Weak against Dark
  • No physical attack skills
  • Lacks other utility like charge or buffs
  • Heal is alright

Sortiliena [Young Serlut Stule]

Strengths

  • Free and easy to limit break
  • Good utility attacker
  • Has physical attack (both single target and AoE)
  • Has charge skill

Weaknesses

  • Would be great if she had AoE heals
  • No magical attacks
  • Suffers from mediocre stats
  • Low turn order priority

Tier C

Alice [A Knight’s Resolve]

Strengths

  • Provoke key targets in tougher battles
  • Quite tanky
  • Single target with physical and magic attacks
  • Breaker and Assault
  • +20% physical resist buff (single target)
  • No elemental disadvantage

Weaknesses

  • Mediocre damage
  • No heals available as support
  • No charge skills as support
  • Low priority turn order
  • Poor stats

As a free 4 star unit given early on, she does her job as a tank provoker. Her damage is lacking and she doesn’t have AoE skills nor any charge skills, so she isn’t the best when it comes to auto play. Like her Osmanthus Knight version, she has low turn order priority, but the Osmanthus Knight version does way more damage and has AoE!
