- 1000 Needles – Fixed 1000 damage to a single unit
- Taunt – Does nothing
- Workload x10 – Charge
- 10000 Needles – Fixed 10000 damage to a single unit
Strategy:
- Need to use items to kill Metal Gigantuar
- Void Vessel and Imperil works very well
- Any craft-able item damaging item works too
- Best ones to use right now are: Red Fang, White Fang, Blue Fang, Void Vessel and Frag Grenade (Throw Required) & Pinwheel (Throw Required)
- Bring at least 6 of any color Fang (to limit the number of items you bring)
- While Void Vessel is the best item, the Fangs, Frag Grenade and Pinwheel will work as well
- If you can’t defeat Metal Gigantuar on the first turn, make sure to bring along a unit that can paralyze or sleep him for another turn

Boss Attacks:
- Red Bombs: Self-Destruct – Deals damage to a single enemy equal to remaining HP and kills self. Used at < 50% HP
- Green Bombs: Explosion – Deals damage to all enemies equal to remaining HP and kills self. Used at < 50% HP
- Fire Breath – Fire magic damage (1.2x) to a single enemy
Strategy:
- You can easily kill them by chaining AoE magic or abilities, Ice damage works the best
- Use Barfira to lower the damage received if you can’t win the first turn
- Note that any Bomb or Balloon will do its suicide move, so if you can’t defeat them on one turn then don’t push it below 50% so you can defeat it on the 2nd

- Crush: Physical damage (1.3x) to one enemy
- Wave Cannon: Physical damage (1.5x) to one enemy
- Particle Beam: Physical damage (4x) to all units
- Energy supply depleted: Cannot perform action for one turn
Strategy:
- Kill the Searcher first, it will heal Io otherwise and every three turns it will buff Io’s damage with Charge Core.
- Killing Searcher prevents Io from using Particle Beam every three turns.
- When Searcher is killed, you will have one free turn as Io will only use “Energy supply depleted.”
- Chain Thundaga and lightning damage abilities to kill both of them faster
- Barthundara can help mitigate the damage from Io’s Plasma attack
- To defeat Io easily use blind and paralyze

- Watera – Water magic damage (1.4x) to all enemies.
- Waterga – Water magic damage (1.8x) to all enemies.
Tentacle attacks
- Revitalize – Heals all allies
- Ink – Blind (60%) to all enemies
- Blizzara – Ice magic damage (1.4x) to all enemies
Strategy:
- A tentacle will use Revitalize every two turns, Ink every three turns and Blizzara every four turns
- If you can, chain Firaga or Thundaga since the boss is weak to both elements
- If you defeat the main body all the tentacles will die so focus on killing the main body
- The tentacles can hit very hard. Use Cheer or Protectga if you can’t kill the mian body in one turn.
- Barblizzara and Barwatera can help mitigate the magical damage if the fight may be drawn out

Boss attacks (Important! Boss can use up to four actions per turn):
- Fira – Fire magic damage (1x) to all enemies.
- Blizzara – Ice magic damage (1x) to all enemies
- Thundara – Lightning magic damage (1x) to all enemies
- Concentrating Magical Power – Will use a strong Firaga, Blizzaga or Thundaga next turn
- Firaga – Fire magic damage (2.5x) to all enemies
- Blizzaga – Ice magic damage (2.5x) to all enemies
- Thundaga – Lightning magic damage (2.5x) to all enemies
- Graviga – HP damage (75%) to all enemies
- Dark Wave – Remove all status effects from the caster
Strategies:
- When lower than 70%, 50% and 30% Greater Demon will only use Graviga that turn
- Use a break or Deprotect or Deshell to increase your damage during your turn and Greater Demon will use one action for Dark Wave during each of his turns before using his auto attacks
- Sealing Blade from Celes will nullify Graviga
- Greater Demon can be blinded to avoid the normal attacks, if you have a Shining Splendor, now is the time to use it
- Barfira, Barthundara and Barblizzara will help mitigate his magical damage
- If he ever uses his “Concentrating magical power” he will use -ga spells in the next turn, so make sure to defend. You can use Carbuncle to reflect the damage, but make sure Carbuncle is on a character that doesn’t go below -50% Dark Resist unless you have Celes to nullify the Gravigas because otherwise Graviga can one shot that character (so maybe use Carbuncle on Cecil).
General Tips:
- Bring a unit with Full Break
- Osmose and Osmose Blade are very useful since they will save you from using your ethers and elixirs
- Elemental AoE Chaining can make quick work of the bosses, but you’ll need units that have access to fire, lightning and ice (sorry Celes)
Gear:
Anything that has high attack and defense, if going the melee team, or anything that has high magic and spirit if going the caster team. Shining Splendor is useful, Excalibur is a MVP for this fight.
