General Thoughts
Unlike other 5-Star units that have been released recently, Mustadio won’t be finding a home in many teams. He may be the upgraded version of Medius but both suffer from that neither are very good at being physical DPS units and until fights are implemented where having ranged abilities matter units like Medius and Mustadio won’t.
Honestly, only his Rapid Fire (1 to 6 physical damage (1x-6x) to random targets) is worth mentioning. Being on average it will hit 3.5 times (350%) it is strictly speaking better than barrage which hits for 320% but Mustadio also doesn’t have any more neat tricks that units like Artemios, Chizuru, Bartz or Cloud of Darkness have.
I like weapons, I like guns, and I like guns with high ATK power and Romandan Pistol (Type: Weapon (Gun), Stats: ATK+107) fits all three criteria for being awesome. Guns are niche weapon right now, but I can imagine at some point having ranged weaponry will make a difference in FFBE, so it’s a useful Trust Master to farm.
Mustadio’s Limit Break is about his only redeeming quality. Seal Evil (Base: Physical damage (2.3x) and petrify (95%) to one enemy, Max: Physical damage (3.25x) and petrify (95%) to one enemy) is the only other petrify ability outside of Exdeath’s Limit Break, but at 95% it has a much higher chance of connecting. Petrify is an instant K.O. in most fights which is why most bosses are immune to it. Still though even if most of the content up to today is immune to petrify I’m sure Mustadio will still have that one battle where he will be the best unit you can bring.
With enough Trust Master Rewards equipped Mustadio might be able to compete with better units, but if you have those Trust Master Rewards then you already have better units; it’s a vicious cycle with sub-par units. His limit break may find him in some PvP teams and boss fights, but outside of his ability to petrify he won’t be on any team that is doing more than Trust Master Farming.
Sub-par as a physical DPS unit until range matters, niche but useful Trust Master Reward, niche but useful Limit Break. Overall Mustadio will end up being a unit that gets rotated in when the few and far between needs for his abilities arise, but with any special teams player they spend most of their time drinking Gatorade and sitting down.
Verdict: Train him only for Trust Master Reward.

Lore
A young man who appears in the tales of holy stones known as auracite in the distant world of Ivalice. Mustadio had mastered the pistol, the weapon of an ancient and lost civilization. He was caught up in a great commotion after his discovery of the Taurus auracite while on an excavation site in Goug.
Although he initially joined Ramza and his companions in hopes of freeing his captive father from the clutches of the Baert Trading Company, he eventually found himself fighting for their cause. Mustadio’s aim with the pistol was so infallible and deadly that in some situations, it was necessary for him to refrain from shooting altogether.
